Facebook announced new jobs in the Blockchain division at its California headquarters. The new jobs were posted to the company’s LinkedIn account. According to the announcements, the company is now looking for product developers, product managers, data scientists and software engineers. All for the Facebook Blockchain team.
The description of the positions also indicates possible areas where the company can implement the technology:
“The Blockchain team is a startup on Facebook and we are exploring many interesting areas in all areas of Blockchain technology. Our primary goal is to help billions of people who have access to things they don’t currently have. These include health care, fair financial services or new ways to store or share information.”
Meanwhile more than 20 jobs open related to blockchain technology
Recently, the company has opened a position for a senior attorney who has both blockchain and payment experience. The person is responsible for drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts related to their blockchain initiatives and advising clients on the various legal risks associated with the technology.
Facebook is also reportedly looking for a product manager and a mixed-method UX researcher to work in its Tel Aviv, Israel office. The number of recent vacancies for blockchain positions therefore exceeds 20.
The founding of the tech giant’s Blockchain team was first announced in May 2018. At the time, David Marcus, head of Facebook’s messaging app Messenger, announced that the social media site was looking for potential applications for the distributed technology.
